I was born and raised in North Carolina. I have always enjoyed the experiences of the outdoors. I spent a lot of my childhood camping and backpacking around Western North Carolina. I have been an avid whitewater kayaker for more than 20 years. Yet another great reason to continue to call WNC home. I also enjoy exploring the coast and received my Captain's License in 2011. This has allowed me to assist with boat deliveries from Charleston to Miami, allowing me to work in the outdoor surroundings that are such a big part of who I am, while honing a new skillset in the marine industry.
I developed an interest in tools and wood working at a young age. I received my General Contractor's License in 2006 and have built numerous new homes as well as many remodels and additions. I have developed a great understanding and knowledge for construction and home systems. I look forward to assisting the community understand more about their new homes, and helping them to have a safe and comfortable home in WNC.

Originally from Mobile Alabama, I fell in love with western North Carolina as a youth attending summer camp in Highlands NC. I graduated from Warren Wilson college with a Bachelor of Arts in Outdoor Leadership which gave me the tools to continue my passion for the outdoors. Over the years my education and work experience has led me into the building industry where I have been able to incorporate the"green" of the outdoors into "green" building practices.
I began working in the construction industry 14 years ago in New York city. After three years in the industry, I decided that it was important to me the process and techniques used in my construction practices. Therefore, the last 11 years I have worked in the green building industry. I moved back to western NC eight years ago where I have been able to continue my education and experience in this field and I look forward to incorporating what I have learned into my home inspections.
I acquired my NC home Inspectors license in January 2014. My history in the field has given me knowledge of current building techniques, green building practices and alternative sources of energy. I am currently in the process of acquiring my HERS licensing (Home Energy Rating System) which will allow Dogwood Home Inspection Services to provide energy ratings as well as energy audits. With our knowledge in the field, our enthusiasm for what we do and our commitment to providing an excellent service to our clients, Dogwood Home Inspection Services is the right choice for you and your home.
